What standards and requirements apply?

Plastics used in aircraft interiors must meet high fire protection requirements. Here, there are general as well as industry-specific sets of rules and also manufacturer-related specifications. For the designer, components, e.g. seats, partitions, galleys or other parts developed for the aircraft cabin do not result in any restrictions. Highly resilient lightweight materials made of engineered plastics are available that meet all relevant industry and manufacturer- specific fire protection requirements.
